Interview with Active Adrian Pagan - Quota 5 I interviewed with Adrian over Zoom today. He is my grand big so I have spent substantial time with him, but it was great to talk to him more. We spoke about Lucas's smash skills, but also his particular controller needs when playing. We also talked about club sports at UCLA. He participates in ultimate frisbee, and I swim on the club swim. It was interesting to hear about the varying levels of commitment required for club sports. Lastly, we talked about his experiences in the fraternity and how the pledging process has changed and stayed the same since he did it his freshman year.

Interview with Active Jennifer Rhee - Quota 5 I interviewed with Jen yesterday. We had to speak over Zoom due to my current situation but this did not hinder the productivity of our conversation. We talked about her time living in Korea and I told her about a friend of mine who moved to Korea a the end of high school. We also spoke about her experiences in Hawaii, as that was where my parents met. It is interesting though because I have never visited Hawaii when my parents have so many friends that live there. Lastly, we talked about her time at Chi O formal as I was there with a friend.

Interview with Active Connie Liang - Quota 6 Today I spoke with active member Connie Liang outside of Sproul Hall Lounge. We talked about the vertical vegetable gardens that grow up there, and we are both curious as to whether or not they use any of the vegetables that are grown in the food at Bruin Plate. We also talked about her involvement in Bruin Consulting here on campus. I am interested in pursuing consulting in the future, so I enjoyed speaking with her about this organization. Lastly, we spoke about her love of surfing. I have a surfboard in my room that I have never used, so she encouraged me to put it to some use before the school year is over.

We talked about our experiences with COVID as my recent isolation is coming to an end. We also discussed the different ways in which the many school districts from our hometowns addressed the return to school differently. Anita and I were speaking from the experiences of our siblings, but Raina provided insight regarding her own senior year during COVID.

Interview with Alum Annika Hsu - Quota 6 I recently had the opportunity to speak with Annika Hsu. She was extremely nice and was the first person that I have met from the Zeta class. She graduated a few years ago, so she had immense wisdom to pass on to me about life past school. She also was president of Kappa Alpha Pi, and it was interesting to hear about that experience for her and how it compared to being a regular active member of the fraternity. She studied geography and I enjoyed talking to her about the misconceptions many people have when they hear that she studied it.
