David Hernandez - Quota 1
I spoke with David at Lu Valle Commons. We talked about some interesting classes he had previously taken, including ASTRO 3 and ASTRO 5. We also talked about the shows we were currently watching, our favorites, and our least favorites. We spoke continuously for the entire hour and had a great, flowing conversation about various everyday topics. I feel that David is a very easy person to get along with and I hope to get to know him more throughout the pledge process.

Caroline Hsu - Quota 1
I spoke with Caroline at the Study while we both enjoyed breakfast. We talked about a wide variety of topics, including our favorite games, current interests, and one of her past internships. I was interested in how she intended to pursue intellectual property law and she told me that this specific internship was a stepping stone toward her career goals. We bonded over some of our shared experiences as Asian-American women and overall just connected really well.

Akunnia Akubuillo - Quota 1
Akunnia and I met at the Study to have our interview. We spoke about her travels in foreign places, including Argentina, the UK, and the Bahamas. I loved hearing about her experiences in all these different places as well as her plans for this summer. She also provided comfort about the pledg4e process, reassuring me that I will eventually find the workload manageable and it will be easier to manage my time.

Zz Khan - Quota 1
I met with Zz at the Kerckhoff Coffeehouse. She spoke extremely passionately about her interests in education reform and current double major in Psychology and Public Affairs. Hearing her speak about public affairs so affectionately has motivated me to look into a Public Affairs minor. I really enjoyed our conversation and I hope to be able to speak to her more in the near future.

Isabella Lok - Quota 1
I met with Isabella at Kerckhoff Coffeehouse. We spoke about future missions, especially the upcoming calendar. We also spoke about the upcoming theme journal, which is to categorize our pledge brothers. Overall, we had a great conversation and I hope to learn more about her in the future.

Eric Rousso - Quota 2
I met with Eric at the Kerckhoff Coffee House where I found him doing some work. We discussed how the pledging process has been going so far for me and how it compared to his own time as a pledge. We discussed some of his more unique interests, including coconuts. We also talked about the formatting of my email, where I could improve, and his response to my confirmation email. I really enjoyed talking to Eric as he felt very welcoming and I hope we can continue having similar conversations in the future.

Aya Cohen - Quota 2
I met with Aya at Janss Steps where we sat in the sun and talked. It was a beautiful setting and we spoke about various things happening in our daily life, including the current flu going around and our time management skills. We also bonded over our love for cats and Studio Ghibli movies. Overall, we had quite a nice conversation and I hope to be able to speak to her more in the near future.

Aneri Parikh - Quota 2
I met with Aneri outside of Bunche. We spoke about our busy schedules, and how especially busy she was that day. She spoke with me about the pledge process, reassuring me that although there are definitely some rough patches, this process will be worth it in the end. She emphasized as a pledge class, we need to support each other when it gets hard. I really appreciated her advice and will take it to heart.

Jacob Chau - Quota 2
I met with Jacob at the Kerckhoff Coffee House. We talked about a wide range of topics. I feel we really bonded over the fact that we are both half-Chinese and half Viet as well as the fact that we both speak fluent Viet but not fluent Chinese. We also talked about his trip to Vietnam in the summer, where he was actually quarantined for several weeks, and the struggle of dry cleaning our business professional clothing. We had a great, energetic conversation and I hope we can talk more in the future.

Ishan Chowdury - Quota 2
Ishan and I talked on side of the Tongva Steps. I really enjoyed our conversation because it felt like a calm moment of reflection in an otherwise very hectic day. We spoke about religion, working out, music tastes, and the difference between our childhood homes and LA. We talked easily and enjoyed the clear, mild weather that day. I really enjoyed the calm pace of the conversation and I hope to have more similar moments in the future.

Micah Mekbib - Quota 2
My interview with Micah was really pleasant. We spent time talking about our interests, both career and otherwise, on the side of the Tongva Steps in the morning. We spoke about a movie we recently watched, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and our thoughts on it. We also talked about her passion for criminal justice reform and my interest in sustainability. We share quite a few common interests and in the future, I would to talk to her about them more in-depth.

Mihir Rai - Quota 2
I spoke with Mihir as he is currently serving as the Co-Director of Professionalism and I am the Co-Chair of Professionalism. Our conversation was mostly focused on the upcoming professional event to be hosted by the pledge class; Mihir gave me lots of tips. He advised me to reach out to the panelists as early as possible, craft a budget for gifts, and perform as much advertising as possible. As this will be the first professional event I plan, I really appreciate these tips. Because our conversation was so focused on the upcoming, I hope to be able to talk to him more in the future and connect on a personal level.

Allison Szetu - Quota 3
I spoke with Allison at Rendevous West, where we spent over an hour mostly discussing two topics. We spoke quite a bit about our experience with romantic relationships, comparing our personal challenges within them. We also spoke about the difficulty of the pledging process and how it affects one's personal relationships, romantic and otherwise. I enjoyed our talk quite a bit as it went further in-depth into a few topics and I would love to talk to Allison more in the future.

Peter Chelebian - Quota 3
I met with Peter at the Physics and Astronomy building for our interview. We talked about several of both his and my interests. I learned that Peter also enjoys thrifting and is passionate when it comes to avoiding fast fashion. I also learned about his interest in intellectual property law and color theory within films. He seems like a very interesting individual and I would love to get to know him more in the future.

Hanna Sato - Quota 3
I spoke with Hanna at Kerckhoff Coffee House, where we jumped around a few topics. We talked about our plans for the summer and I learned that Hanna was planning to travel a bit this summer, to several destinations. She also gave me some insight into the pledging process, reminding me that in order to cross, my pledge class would have to work together as all pledge classes have in the past. I appreciated her advice as well as enjoyed our talk about more casual topics and I hope to be able to speak to her more in the future.
