My first interview was with Elaine. She encouraged me to apply at the Law School for an assistant position because she works there. She helped me destress about the pledge process, and encouraged me to keep going. Overall I really appreciated our conversation, it genuinely helped me yesterday.

My interview with Cia was at Bruin Cafe. We talked about her experiences growing up in a small town. She started fangirling over her current relationship which she met over Tinder. She also helped me unpack all my emotions of the process, and also really encouraged me to keep going.

Quota 2: My first interview this week was with Vidya. It was interesting getting to hear about her family, and hearing about the relationship's she has with her siblings, especially because I'm the youngest and she's the oldest so it was good to get a new perspective. She told me about her responsibilities as the active Historian, which was also very interesting to learn about, I really enjoy what the position entails and if and when I cross, I think I would definitely consider running for the position. We talked about out summer plans and bonded over our family traditions. Overall it was a great conversation, I really enjoyed it.

Quota 2: My second interview this quota was with Aya which was so entertaining. She told me all about Sexperts and her role in thee organization, I wanted to buy a tote bag from their fundraiser that day but they were all sold out . We talked about being in long-distance relationships and how there are so many pros and cons to trying to make things work out. It was nice to hear about her perspectives on relationships and love seeing as I'm still trying to navigate my own sticky situation. Overall I absolutely loved our conversation.

Quota 2: My third interview this week was with Kylie which also went super well. We were honestly just spilling tea the entire time about our relationships. It was great hearing and getting to know that I'm not the only one in a sticky situation (sorry for spilling the tea Kylie). We gave each other good insights on how we should go about our situations. We also talked about what we've planned for the summer and how excited we are for the quarter to end. It was a "juicy" conversation to say the least.

Quota 2: My fourth interview this week was with Max which was so extremely interesting. It was so cool getting to learn and hear about how Maxine is so passionate about so many social issues going on in the world right now. She told me about how she tried to go up against the Math department when they we're making finals option after all the social protest and COVID-19 issues happening in the world. It was great to hear how inspired and driven people in Kappa Alpha Pi are. We also discussed how both people and organizations have changed so much since the pandemic. Overall it was a great conversation, I sincerely didn't even get to ask everything I wanted to know from Max.

Quota 4: My first interview for this week's Quota was with Micah. It was such an interesting conversation, we discussed our experiences while pledging which were pretty similar to one another. I ranted to her about how as a third year with so many responsibilities it feels like I'm sometimes on a different vibe then some of my pbros which she fully understood and validated me, it made me feel better about it honestly. She also told me about her trip too rolling loud Miami with some of the other actives and how she got COVID right after. Overall it was such a good conversation that we lost track of time and before I knew it, I had to run because I was late for my second interview of the day.

Quota 4: My second interview for this quota was with Chanel. This was also an amazing interview. She was kind enough to get me a meal voucher so we ate sushi during our interview. I told her all about my crazy-stalker neighbor experience, and we bonded over girly things like thrifting, jewelry and tattoos. I recommended her a really popular tattoo spot in LA for this upcoming Friday the 13th, I can't wait to see what tattoo she decides to get!

Quota 4: My third interview for this quota was actually with my A-big David. We truly bond through roasting and humbling each other, he's always making jokes about how he dosent want to be seen in public with me because it's embarrassing. It turns out we also know so many of the same people, the LatinX community here at UCLA is so small which is probably why. We ended by planning our a-big/a-little date, six flags here we come woho!

Quota 4: My fourth interview for this quota was actually with an early alumni Lefter! We discussed our experiences in Kappa Alpha Pi and pledging, a-lot of his experiences where also very similar to mine, which always makes me feel so much better! He told me all about how he also pledged for a cultural fraternity named La Unidad Latina Lambda Alpha Lambda. He gave me some workout tips and even protein bar reviews, overall it was a fruitful conversation.

Quota 4: My fifth interview was also with an early alumni Alejando Salas. I absolutely loved my interview with Alejandro. Alejandro was just so inspiring, he told me about all the organizations and affiliations he has here on campus. He's graduating with LatinX honors all while also going out every weekend and very much enjoying his social life! He told me all about his current cap-stone project as a Public Affairs major and gave me useful tips for my placement. Honestly I learned so much from Ale, I truly do hope to keep that connection because he's so amazing!

Quota 4: My sixth interview for this week was with Narek. Let me just say I also absolutely loved my interview with Narek. He made me listen to the new Kehlani album and roasted me about being a fake stan the entire time. We talked about tik-tok and he showed me a couple dance moves, he's so so slay. We ended up gossiping about how we're both down bad in the trenches (if you know, then you know). Overall it was such a fun time, it really felt like I was hanging out with one of my future besties.

Quota 4: My seventh interview for this quota was with Jacob. He told me about his experience tearing his ACL, because I was ranting to him about one of my best friends who also tore his ACL and would always guilt trip me into doing little petty sh*t for him cause he was hurt. We also talked about our experiences while pledging, like most of the actives he let me vent for a while about how being on the older side of the pledge class can sometimes be draining hehe. We ended the conversation by talking about some of our favorite movies, music genres and foods.

Quota 4: My eighth and final interview for this week's quota was with Naomi. We sat on Janns steps which was nice because I was telling her that sitting on the grass or on the beach or any nature spot outside feels very grounding for me, which is exactly what I needed cause I had a terrible day. Like always, I ranted (I always rant hahah) about the process and how drained I was, but she was so sweet in encouraging me and making me feel like I'm not alone. We bonded over Rhianna cause we're soon be to aunties 😍 hahah. We ended the conversation by talking about our big/little dates and how fun and connecting they are. Overall Naomi is so sweet, I can't wait to continue our conversation.
