The more I hang out with Aya I realize why we clicked so much. Even texting I was excited about going out this weekend. I got so lucky because not only did I get the best big but I got the best twin. All three of us had been texting all weekend about what we wanted to do. We each had something to do on Saturday. So I went home, Aya, and Abby were doing their thing. But we all agreed that Sunday was going to be our day so when we all got available Sunday evening we decide to go to spots in Westwood. So at 6 I went to Sproul cove and waited for Aya and Abby to come. We all dress up for our dinner. I really liked that we talked about what to wear so we do not look off. We all matched the same vibe. When we met up at 6 we walked to the fundraiser. On our way there we talked about Minecraft I did not contribute much to that because I just got it but I can really build and I hope that one night we can hang out and just build a little home together. The walk was not as painful as I am used to. I think because I was enjoying the conversation I was able to fly by. But before we got to the restaurant I had to give a disclaimer that I had never really had sushi before or that I knew how to use chopsticks. So my task of the night was for Aya to teach me. Once we got into Westwood we immediately went to our fundraiser. I got to see Leslie someone in the process who I look up to the most. Just Boba was a nice place I was a bit overwhelmed by all the choices we had, Aya immediately knew what she wanted. I was being so indecisive because everything had jasmine tea and I do not remember having that at all. We ran into many of the active members and pledges during our time which was nice. After getting our boba we made our way to get sushi. I was so excited because I have never had proper sushi where I got to sit down and order fish. The closest I have gotten was a California roll from the drey. I order the baked salmon which was so good. But before my food came I was practicing so hard to make Aya proud with my chopstick skills. She taught me well because by the end of the night I was really doing it. I wanted to learn so bad how to use chopsticks because I got flashbacks from the retreat dinner where we went to ramen and I did not know how to use chopsticks. Anyways I really enjoyed going out to dinner with Aya and Abby. We already have such a strong connection because after dinner we went back to Aya's room and bonded over our past. I just remind me that we are all going through something and it is only going to make us stronger. I am also so jealous she has a big room a deluxe double is where it is at. It was nice knowing that we were able to be vulnerable with people that I just met. It is hard to find someone that is willing to listen. However, we are all crazy and will fight someone if we have to but we are also all not the best with confrontation. I would not have wished for a better day than this because it was relaxing to decompress with another person that knows how we are feeling. Overall this day was a 10/10 I can not wait to continue to know Aya and Abby more during this process.

Seeking a future in immigration law is an interest that has developed recently. I grew up translating and interpreting documents if my dad was not around for my mom. Through my personal experience, I see how difficult it is for individuals. It was not a reality for me to step into immigration law until I got into high school where I go to see that immigration legislation is constantly changing which makes it even more difficult for people. I hope to be the bridge that helps others navigate the pathways of immigration status. Immigration law is a constant practice because due to unforeseen circumstances many people flee their countries in search of opportunities or shelter. The biggest setback is often times people are missed informed about the process of how to get citizenship or residency because it is a hot topic that stays on the news many get disinformed. Immigration impacts everyone around the world. Not only does my interest have to due with personal circumstances but I have always been interested in cultures and people from other countries. But I specifically focus my understanding of how immigration affects the Mexican community as it is one of the closest borders to us. My background in Spanish has helped me in the past to communicate with people from my community in want to receive a better life. Immigration status is the first step/ toward making the world a better place which helps the economy. I had no idea that I wanted to go into immigration but I think that knowing that I can make a difference in lives at a personal level is important. There are a few pros of why I want to go into immigration. The first one is that it diversifies local economies because it brings new perspectives, ideas, and experiences. It can strengthen the community because many start their own business which helps increase production and profit. The second one is immigration lowers the level of crime because they are trying to build a case. It lowers the amount of police interaction.

Law school is a privilege that not many people have the opportunity to attend. Choosing to go into law school was to help change within the community I choose to practice in. However, part of it is the prestige because of how I grew up. Wanting better for my family, myself, and my community was important to me so no better way to do that than to enter spaces that are valued by society. In choosing where I want to attend school numerous factors go in. The first one is location, environment, network, and programs. So I decided that New York University Law is my dream school for law.
New York University offers a variety of specialties like public interest, technology, business, and more. What draws me in is the curriculum uses philosophy, economics, politics, history, and social theory to develop courses that provide a well-rounded understanding of topics that are useful and can be applied outside of the classroom. It has created a system where many people with different goals come together and learn which helps others find what they want to practice. The school offers opportunities in clinical work but also government and private law. The professors there are great resources as they also act as mentors and can provide networking opportunities. The school provides an opportunity to work directly with professors in creating articles that later get published. As well as the faculty, the alumni network is a useful resource both during and after your law school years.
Growing up, I did not know any attorneys, so I don't have any personal background on who to ask for resources but it offers student support. The academic services and registration help in creating a plan that is designed for each student for a curriculum that you need and want, the judicial clerkship office helps with the application process, and the office of student financial services that counsels each student in creating ways to finance their education payments. Many schools offer these programs but New York University will give me a support system that I've never had before because it helps create plans. I think another great opportunity that the school offers to someone like me is their “home away from home”. It is two residence halls designed for students that need living arrangements. I would take advantage of this opportunity so fast because I know how expensive it can be to find housing in New York City. I do not mind living on campus because it is already located in the center of New York. However, I would personally like to live in Hayden Hall. The hall includes amenities that would cost a large amount of money if it were off-campus. The selling point to me is that it has heat, air conditioning, electricity, water, and gas. It is funny to think of that because it is a grown-up way of thinking. If I were to do this living situation I would want a double living situation because it is an apartment-type housing. Hayden Hall offers it all: computer laboratories, laundry rooms, an entertainment area with a pool table, darts, a foosball table, a ping pong table, a TV lounge, and study rooms. Hayden Hall houses the Student Bar Association and numerous other student group offices.
Living there means I would be closer to all the student Organizations. A few of the organizations I would love to be a part of are our Education Law and Policy Society, Immigrant Rights Project, Mental Health Law and Justice Association, Prisoners’ Rights & Education Project, and Law and Government Society. There are so many more that I am interested in but I can only choose a few. I would devote more time to the Immigrant Right Project because I am interested in going into that field of law. The New York University Law Immigrant Rights Project is a community-based organization that brings together law students and the community to provide social and educational events. The school also offers a fourteen-credit class for 2L and 3L students that teaches client interviews, fact development, and any legal work that is needed. I would be excited to take this class as it directly relates to what I hope to work in.
New York University will be the perfect place for me as I can see myself living in the city and balancing an academic and social life. After researching the school more I have fallen in love. I hope this dream of mine come true.

The Save the Children Fund or Save the Children, and the goal of improving the lives of children by providing better education, health care, and economic possibilities, as well as providing emergency help in natural disasters, wars, and other crises. Save the Children was established in the United Kingdom in 1919. Rescue the Children works to save and enhance the lives of children all around the world. Work to ensure that children have access to healthcare, food, and housing, as well as educational and child protection services when they are most needed. They are dedicated to ensuring that all children reach their full potential by growing up healthily, receiving a solid education, and being safe. I would want to be a part of this since children's rights are at the heart of everything we do. Millions of children are denied their rights throughout the world just because of who they are or where they come from. To ensure that every kid has a future, their rights must be respected. Within the organization, there is advocacy and campaigns. Save the Children advocates for governments to take action to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals and, ultimately, the realization of all children's rights as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, with a focus on children who have been left behind. Save Our Education is a movement that I am passionate about because everyone deserves the opportunity to study. Children in low-income nations, refugee camps, and war zones may never return to school, making them more vulnerable to starvation, violence, child labor, and child marriage with each passing day. I am passionate about this because education helps people achieve their full potential through reducing poverty, reducing social disparities, empowering women, and reducing poverty. It also provides major economic benefits to a country and aids societies in achieving long-term peace and development. All other human rights are dependent on education. Being involved in the process I can start as early next month to be a part of change within the children's life that deserve it. Being cut off from school, friends, and a sense of normalcy may be difficult for any youngster. It's horrible for vulnerable children. For many children, school is a lifeline. When the home is unsafe, school is a safe haven. When you're hungry, you can eat at school. And when you're poor, school is your only hope for a brighter future. Children who receive an education have the opportunity to contribute to a brighter future for all of us. Education helps children laugh, study, eat, play, and develop while protecting them from poverty, violence, and abuse. However, schools throughout the world remain closed, denying millions of children access to education. At least ten to sixteen million youngsters are at risk of never attending school again. Governments must prioritize education as they cope with COVID-19, build future initiatives, and plan their budgets. COVID-19 cannot afford to lose learning. It is important to put pressure on the politicians to defend education and protect a generation by participating in 100 Days of ACTION. Millions of children are denied an education merely because of their ethnicity or location. They have been denied access to education due to emergencies, extreme poverty, or discrimination based on their gender, handicap, or ethnicity. Education is being denied to the world's most disadvantaged and marginalized children. I think it is important to me to be a part of the solution to this because I always talk about how education is important and it it not a privilege to the wealthy. But it is the opportunity to better your life situation.
