This weekend with my Big Josiah actually had to be postponed because I had gone home for my mom’s birthday, he completely understood though which I’m grateful for. We decided to reschedule our big/little date for tomorrow, Monday the 25th at night. Although it will be at night we are still hoping to do some of the wholesome things we had planned for Sunday evening. We had originally planned to do brunch however since our plans had to be rescheduled we decided to do dinner. We’re going to go to a nice pasta restaurant in Beverly Hills, because for some reason when we’re together we really act like we’re invincible and boujee. So we decided to go to a pasta restaurant in Beverly Hills to act fake boujee and live our fantasy life-style together. Right after we're going to take a cute little walk on Rodeo Dr. and have mini photo shoots because we agreed that we would wear slay outfits and do our makeup to look all pretty to take good candids for future instagram posts, and not to mention it will add to our boujee fantasy night. Originally we had planned to do something wholesome after brunch like painting on the beach, but once again because it had to be rescheduled we decided to still go to the beach but simply just not paint. I absolutely love the beach regardless of what time of day it is, so I’m glad that we still agreed to go. Being at the beach at night is still very much vibes, to sit there, take in the late night waves, the moonlight, and just have deep conversations. Something that me and Josiah are very good at, which is why I love our relationship, because from the jump we were very comfortable opening up to each other, communicating and allowing ourselves to be there for each other. I think retreat definitely solidified us having that type of relationship, because after I had so many mixed emotions on the second night Josiah came and allowed me to open up to him in a way that wasn't so overwhelming and I very much appreciated that. After that night I knew we would grow to have a very tight relationship, and so far it truly has been. So this is my really long way of saying, my big and I have planned to go live our fantasy boujee life for a night, get some bomb pasta from one of my favorite restaurants and simply just end the night vibing at the beach. I’m sure that we’ll spend hours at the beach sitting and chatting it up because one thing about us is that we’re very good at chatting it up. Overall I’m super excited because I’m going to spend the night doing some of my favorite things, going to some of my favorite places, and with one of my new favorite people. If we had the opportunity i would still love to do some painting on the beach, and I believe we’re going to try but honestly I’m not sure how successful that will because because it’s going to be very dark and cold at the beach so it truly might end up being fail, which is why I don’t wanna get my hopes up and think we’re going to paint. Regardless of this though it’s going to be an amazing way to end a long and tiring Monday night. And in a way I'm glad it's going to be after a long-tiring day because I definitely think I'm going to need that encouragement and self-care type vibe.

5/8 Research a law school you’d like to go to Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had the biggest dream of attending Yale law school. I remember one day me and my sister went shopping, and we stepped into a Forever 21 where they had a plain white tee with YALE embroidered on it. At the time I only knew Yale was a prestigious university and barely knew anything about what law school even was. I begged my sister to buy the shirt for me, I wanted it so bad… Ultimately she didn't end up buying it for me (which broke my heart haha to this day I still bring it up to her and clown on her, telling her that when I get in for law school she has to buy me a whole set for not buying me the one shirt years ago). At that time I was only 7 and ever since I’ve had the biggest dream of attending Yale Law. Yale Law located in New Haven, Connecticut. It is a private Ivy League Research University. Researching Yale Law I learned that it has constantly been ranked the number one Best Law School in the U.S. News rankings and it is because the university has exceptional faculty resources and career placement success. Yale also ranks #1 in terms of student selectivity with an acceptance rate of 6.9%. The average LSAT score among Yale Law applicants is a 173 among those applicants granted admission who enrolled as full-time students. The median GPA score of a student enrolled at Yale University is 3.92. Only around 1 in 15 of their highly qualified applicants makes it through. There are no areas of concentration at Yale, however students may adjust course selections to suit their interests. Joint degrees are offered in conjunction with other professional and graduate schools at Yale. Ambitious students can earn an accelerated integrated J.D./M.B.A in three years, the same time length that it would normally take to complete a traditional J.D. Yale Law school has more than 20 legal clinics, therefore students can immerse themselves in real-life legal experiences as early as their first year. The program is incredible because students are able to represent real clinics in domestic violence disputes, apartment eviction proceedings and more. In addition to clinical experience, students can test their legal smarts in workshops and on-campus centers. Yale Law school also has many great organizations outside of the classroom, students have about 50 organizations to check out, from the students a capella group Habeas Chorus of the Yale Federalist Society. Students are also able to live on campus in university-owned graduate student housing in New Haven, Connecticut, although most students choose to live elsewhere around the local town. Among the law school’s most notable alumni are former President Bill Clinton and Supreme Court Justice Samual Alito and Clarence Thomas. Throughout, a spirit of collaboration reigns. All first-term courses are ungraded, and subsequent classes are graded honors/pass/low pass. Yale Law School is unique among law schools in that it produces leaders in all walks of life: distinguished deans and faculty members at law school across the country and the world. Industry CEOs and corporate counsels; founders of nongovernmental organizations and other nonprofit entities; entrepreneurs; government servants in federal, state, and local offices and the judiciary — just a few areas in which our alumni's talent and passion and dedication have made a difference. Among the School’s graduates are U.S. Presidents and Supreme Court Justices; and among its far-reaching projects, the Information Society Project and the Paul Tsai China Center. These are some things I learned.

5/22 An NGO you are interested and why you are interested An NGO that I am super interested in working with is actually an internship in Latin America called Fundacion Catalina Munoz. I know it’s random that it’s all the way in Colombia but the reason I discovered this organization was because it was one of the organizations I was supposed to work with during my internship abroad, however I was placed elsewhere. However I really did fall in love with the organization which is why I chose to write about it for this assignment. Fundacion Catalina Munoz is an NGO that works to promote urban housing/planning in the most rural areas of Colombia. Part of their mission is to reduce the deficit and promote formal urban development in Colombian homes through the construction of concrete housing modules and home improvement. They also contribute to the improvement of the infrastructure and aesthetics of public educational institutions in Colombia in alliance with companies and individuals. The organization works to transform common spaces by adapting and beautifying their infrastructure in partnership with companies and individuals. Fundacion Golondrias adapts eco-spaces such as gardens and tree planting as a social-environmental strategy in alliance with communities and individuals. And lastly they manage resources to help vulnerable populations with food and hygiene kits in partnership with communities and individuals. In total the organization has constructed 3,800 homes they have reinvested in 150 different colleges, transformed 50 eco-spaces, have created 200 adequate green spaces and have given 11,000 food and hygiene kits delivered. I feel like I have a really passionate connection to this organization specifically because of what I want to do in the future as a career. For my career plans I’ve always wanted to start up my own NGO, specifically one that focuses on building self-sustainable architecture, meaning I want my organization to build schools, clinics, and homes. When I mean self-sustainable I mean in it also in the sense of how Fundacion Catalina Munoz does it as well, in a community-oriented way. They make sure to go into the community first and understand what is needed by them. The same way that Fundacion Catalina Munoz does it, they first visit the community and understand the needs of the community before starting any big projects. Based on their feedback they let me know that usually the community prefers them to work on community projects for the children, like parks and reinvesting in schools. The main goal of the organization when it first initiated was to just build homes however slowly through a community oriented approach they began to take these different types of initiatives. This is specifically why I feel in love with this organization because it’s exactly the way I want to go about mine. I want to build an organization that has a really strong community oriented approach where the community is able to have a helping hand and say into what projects should be worked on. Again this is what I mean by self-sufficient. Self-sufficientness also mean that these places will be able to maintain themselves by the community through the community. The materials, the resources, and the people will all be self-sufficient. It will all be for the community by the community. I think this stems from the fact that I come from one of the worst communities in Los Angeles. So in this sense I’ve always known that for you to actualize real solutions you must understand the communities that you are trying to create the solutions for. If you come with an outside perspective then the change you create might not actually be what you are expecting.
