I'm writing this before I even go to sleep because I know that today is going to be a really busy day for me. I'm planning on waking up at 9am to get ready and eat breakfast before heading to my 10am discussion for Atmospheric and Oceanic sciences. I need to figure out a time within the next few days to do the weekly homework for this class, but to be honest its kind of my last priority at the moment. I'm planning on spending the rest of today after my discussion studying for my dinosaur midterm, as the midterm for that class is tomorrow and I have little to no knowledge of the content. I hope to spend several hours going over notes, rewatching lectures, and doing the midterm review in order to prepare. I also was introduced to the study stawverry lemonade recently, and will defintely be getting that as part of my lunch today. I was also thinking about going to the gym today, but with studying for the midterm and making sure my cross for mock trial is done, I'm not sure if I will have the time. One thing I'm defintely looking forward to over the summer is being able to go back to the crossfit gym I go to in my hometown. I plan on studying and doing school work until around 5:30, when I have a mandatory zoom meeting for a travel abroad study program I am a part of this summer. I am really excited about the trip and am ready to learn more about it during the zoom today. After that, we have the pledge-alumni mixer, and then I have study hours with the rest of my pledge brothers.

I woke up today a lot later than I intended, and usually, I would be pretty upset about this. However, the last two days have been so draining that I definitely needed the extra sleep. I am also a little concerned because my legs have been abnormally sore since Friday, when I did legs at the gym, and usually I am pretty sore for 1-2 days after given the intensity of my workout. However, I am still sore five days later, which concerns me. My thinking is that this could be because after Friday I have not taken any rest days at the gym and I keep pushing my legs. I do not really like taking rest days, so I may have to really force myself this week to pause a bit. I still, however, might go to the gym today and just take it a bit easier. My plan for the day, besides the gym, is to start studying for my Sociology midterm on Friday. I know the content fairly well, but I have not yet made a study guide or review sheet, and I definitely think that will help me study. I love sociology as a subject and know a lot about the content as it is, but I am not too sure about the key vocabulary words and terms. Besides studying sociology, I need to figure out what to get my mother for Mother's Day, which is coming up soon. She is going on vacation the weekend of Mother's Day, so I definitely have to order it for this weekend, but I am still unsure what a good gift would be.

So far today has been okay. I had to wake up at 7:40 so on get ready to go to work at 9 but I really valued sleep so I stayed in until 8:10. Biggest mistake of my life because I got to work late by a minute but the clock in the register will not let me log in. That was not the best but I eventually got clocked in. I have to start liking the morning shift because with everything going on right now morning shifts are the only thing my schedule can handle. My one complaint today is my coworker knows that if she comes after me she does the outside trash. I told her I did the inside but you can do the outside and the boxes I’m going to stay on dishes because I have 20 minutes left. Emptying all the trash cans takes me about an hour and I was not about to do that. Other than that today has been a decent day I am just so stressed about my Anthropology class I really do not believe I will pass this midterm just because I have been neglecting the reads. I am going to study so I remember the part that I am unsure about but I really want to make this class pass no pass but I do not believe that I can do that. I do not understand why I let myself take anything related to biology when I know for a fact that I hate it so much.

I'm writing this a lot earlier than I normally do because I have two midterms tomorrow that I'm pretty screwed for. I meant to wake up around 8am this morning, but instead I turned off my alarm and slept in till 11. After I got up I showered and got ready, then headed to Kerckhoff to study with my girlfriend for a bit. I ran into a few actives on Bruinwalk, and it was fun talking with them for a bit. I stayed in Kerckhoff for a decently long time, and did a quiz for my dinosaur class. After that we talked back to the hill, and I got two potato balls from the Kappa Alpha Pi fundraiser. My girlfriend and I took like an hour long nap together then, before she had to head out for her 4pm seminar. Since then I started my laundry, and have been at my desk doing some work. The Milwaukee Bucks playoff game is also on, so I watched the first quarter with my roommates which was chill. I'm a big Bucks fan so I'm hoping they can close the series out this afternoon. I am excited to go to the pledge alumni event later tonight, and am less excited for my pledge class study hours just because I know I'm going to have to lock in and start studying for my midterms. I am very grateful that I have two of my pbros in both of those classes, however, and I'm sure we'll prepare pretty well.

Today, I slept through my first two alarms. I had gone to sleep around 1, which was not too late, but I think that my poor sleep schedule caught up to me and I slept in much later then intended today. Still, I got up in time for my interview with Akunnia. I met her at the study, and then we went to buy snacks from the Kappa Alpha Pi Portos fundraiser. We spoke to a few actives, and then went to the bomb shelter to eat our pastries. It was my first time having Portos and I really enjoyed it. We talked for longer than our interview time, and I really enjoyed speaking with her. After that, I grabbed some boba for lunch, and headed back to the hill. After I arrived back, I immediately began working on my musicology midterm. It is a seven page essay on the musical life at the ghetto camp Terezin. I knew that especially since I slept in, I would need to work really hard to make progress on the essay before the mixer. Unfortunately, while I was working, I found out that my boyfriend's grandmother was sent to hospital today. I have been really close with his family for a few years now, and I was really upset and taken aback when I heard this. I took a short break to talk to him and his mom, and it was difficult for me to focus after that. Additionally, I realized that I could not attend my sister's graduation. My sister has been my best friend for a while, and her college graduation means a lot to me. I have come close to losing my sister multiple times, so to see her graduating into a career she loves makes me truly happy. However, it was difficult for me to realize that with pledging and school, it really doesn't seem possible for me to fly to New York any time soon. Either way, I had to finish my midterm. I eventually wrote the seven pages and attended the pledge/ alumni mixer. Currently, I am at study hours with the rest of my pledge class. I am really happy that everyone showed up and participated.

I woke up early this morning, only to lay in bed from 8am to 11am. I was so exhausted from my long day of studying the night before and just neeed time to myself in the morning. Though I wanted to prioritize going to class, I am already so behind on my previous classwork because I have been trying to stay ontop of my work in Kappa Alpha Pi. I missed my class in an attempt to catch up on my course load and finish my emails. I went with Cya down to the Olympic and Centinnel to finish up some of our interview emails. Although I did not get as many emails as I wanted to get done, I was happy that I got about half of the emails out. I was also able to complete more of my work for my Public Affairs 60 class. Afterward, I rushed back to my dorm to join the Alumni/Pledge mixer hosted by my big, Elaine. I got to hear a lot of interesting perspectives from the former Alumni. It was great hearing about all the different places the former active, even if it was outside of the field of law. Although Ben Woods and I did not talk much, it was nice to hear from another person who had a former interest in criminal law and policy. I overall really enjoyed the event and look forward to the other events the active has in store for us. I ended the night with my pledge brothers. We are currently doing our study hours and working on our draft due tonight for Mock Trial.

I woke up today and got lunch at The Drey. I got some california rolls from The Drey. They’re kinda mid but they I still find it addicting. I had another long night so I had a late start to my day. Afterwards, I talked to my mom on the phone to catch up on things. Then, I called my best friend back home to catch up with her as well. I then got ready and went to the Illustrations meeting. I love going to the student media office because we have a new office dog. Afterwards, I went back to my dorm and attended the meeting. I had a great time getting to meet the alumnis during the alumni/pledge mixer. Then, I got dinner at The Study with my twin. I also grabbed tea while we waited for the food to get ready. We then met up with the rest of the pledge class for study hours. We went to multiple different lounges and got multiple stares from people while trying to find a nice place to study. We also worked on Mock Trials together and I hope to finish this soon as I have ethics homework to do as well. I am hoping that I can get enough done for today as I need to as I have a few things to do tomorrow as well. I will probably end the night writing some emails and reading up on ethics. I will probably meet with my friends later tonight to work on it.

Today was pretty chill since I just had to study for midterms. I woke up around 9:00am and headed to the study for a sandwich. I usually get a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich but I decided to do something different. I got prosciutto instead, but did not enjoy how salty the meat was. Then I did more studying and linguistics homework for the rest of the time. Around 5:00pm I then decided to get an early dinner. I got in line for a food truck which sold buffalo ranch fries. Then I headed back to my dorm just in time for the Kappa Alpha Pi Pledge Alumni Mixer. While attending the mixer, I got to engage in many conversations about a career in law. After I reflected from the conversations I had, they were super helpful in helping me decide on what type of law to go into. Now that I think of it, entertainment law is one that definitely interests me. After the mixer I then meet up with all my pledge brothers for our study session. As I write this journal, I am currently surrounded by all of them. Personally, I have never really studied as a group. But now that I have experienced it, it is very encouraging to see others study around me. And the setting also has helped me focus a lot on my work. Ultimately I am super nervous for my midterm tomorrow, but I am hopeful that I will pass with a decent score.

Today was a pretty fun day. I woke up early for my "interview" to become a Guayaki Ambacebador. the entire thing was super chill and I ended up getting in! Apparently Im gonna get a free case of yerbs in the near future, and can get more if I do certain things which is pretty hype. The zoom was at 6 am though, so I went to sleep as soon as it ended again. Later I wok up at 10:30 to go to my 11 am class. This was the last lecture before our midterm in microecon, so I am getting super nervous about the exam. On my way to class I saw a bunch of actives selling Portos on Bruinwalk and said hi. On the way back from class I stopped by everyone on Bruinwalk again and bought a pastry. I got to see my big Eric and give him a hug also which was a 10/10 expereince. After class I went to the gym and grabbed lunch, then I got ready for an interview with Megan. I had a really fun time as we talked and walked to Target and then got Starbucks. Afterward I went to my 5pm econ discussion and then had to rush back to the hill for the professional zoom event. I had a TON of technical difficulties tonight. My laptop would not connect to the eduroam wifi and was being super slow on my hotspot, so I had to try to join the zoom from my phone which started lagging. Then I joined from my laptop again but everything kept freezing on me. Despite the difficulties, I still really enjoyed the Zoom and had a good time hearing about all the expereince and advice the alumni had to share. Afterwards I went to our study hours and got dinner. Now I am preparring for my writing 2 midterm and am planning to go to sleep soon.

I had a midterm for my Forest and Ecosystems class, Geog 107. I really like the content of this class because it has taught me the basics of identifying the main plant families, which I can literally just go outside and do at anytime. I haven’t fully studied all 10 of the major plant families, but I know that if I did, I would be able to apply the information that I’m currently learning and just knowing that makes me enjoy the class content. I had stayed up extremely late the night before to study for this midterm. Fortunately, the professor provided a study guide so I knew what topics to focus on. Unfortunately, the format of the test was not revealed until a few hours before the test so I did not know if we had to write short answers. To prepare for questions that really required in-depth knowledge, I ended up studying far beyond the study guide and exhausting myself this morning. Despite the fatigue, I still managed to wake up at 8am, study some more, and make it to class on time. My time spent studying paid off because I felt fairly confident in my answers for the majority of the test. I hope this confidence was warranted and I’ll get a good grade because this exam was 35% of my grade. That was definitely the most important part of my day as it was my first midterm for this quarter and I have spent the past two days almost solely preparing for this test. After that, I just went back to my dorm to do some work and ended up taking a really long nap before attending the Pledge/Alumni mixer. I found it interesting to talk to those who have been in my position and progressed further in life. The rest of my day only consisted of small things and now I am currently finishing up my crosses and directs to submit to the mock trial directors.

Today my day started slowly and picked up pace as it continued. I woke up early this morning and laid in bed for about thirty minutes before proceeding to shower and get dressed. I did not make it to the dining halls in time for the breakfast hour and instead waited until 11 AM to get the quesadillas from Rendezvous. After eating, I got an ASUCLA meal ticket for my friend and walked down to campus to wait for her to get out of class. When she came out we walked to Kerckhoff patio and worked for a little while. Kerckhoff Patio makes me paranoid now though and today I saw Suzy walking through the area. This was the first time I saw her on campus and it was like my brain required a loading time to process seeing her. I shook her hand and then my friends and I went inside to visit another friend who had just spilled soup on their pants and needed help cleaning up. We studied and worked for a little while longer before heading to Ackerman to eat some more food. I ate a burrito from Veggie Grill and I was impressed by the flavor. With my free time now gone I headed to my only class of the day, a dinosaurs lab. It was a relaxing class and I was able to socialize while getting my work done in a timely manner. Afterwards, I met my friend to take some things back up to the hill for her when she went to work. I walked back up the hill and prepared for the student alumni mixer. I enjoyed the opportunity to see where Kappa Alpha Pi Alumni are right now, although I was stressing about midterms for a majority of the time. After the mixer, I got food from BPlate which was respectfully bussing and headed to study hours with my pledge brothers. We stayed fairly productive for the first two hours before the activity devolved into socializing.

Today was a more relaxing day than the last few days. I woke up at around 10 AM, got ready, and looked over my schedule for the day. I got a late lunch at 2 PM, because I was watching the Champions League semi final game that started at 12 PM. The team I support, Liverpool, won the game, so it was a good start to my day. After lunch, I did a discussion post for my global studies class, and then headed for my 4 PM art history GE discussion. On the way to class, I bumped into several active members on Bruinwalk, who were working on a fundraising project. Thankfully, I didn't miss any handshakes. We did a midterm revision in class. After class, I got back to my room, did some homework, and joined the Pledge/Alumni mixer on zoom. It was definitely a very informative session, and I learned a lot from the graduated members of Kappa Alpha Pi. After that, I got dinner with my twin, and we headed to Saxon for our group study hours with the rest of our pledge class. Currently, we're working on our mock trial case, which I personally find one of the most fun parts of the pledge process. Let's hope tomorrow is a good day too.

Today was decent. I woke up pretty early at around 7:30 in hopes to have a more productive day. After getting ready for my day I walked over to my 9 am lecturer which I thought was going to be awful but it was shockingly enjoyable today. Immediately after this lecture I walked over to the science building where I attended my discussion. After discussion I walked back to the hill and grabbed lunch at b cafe which was nice because I had not been there in a few days. I got my usual vegan barbecue beef sandwich which is definitely the best item on b cafes entire menu! After lunch at b cafe I hurried over to my next lab for eps sci 8. Next stop was back to the hill where I met up with Faith to work on emails and other assignments. We studied for like an hour before we parted ways to attend the Alumni mixer on zoom. The mixer was so informative and I really enjoyed meeting some of the Kappa Alpha Pi alumni. Speaking to them helped to reassure me that the path I’m on is the right one and ultimately to do what I enjoy. After the mixer my pledge brothers and I met up for study hours and we worked on a mock trial for a few hours. After our study session some of us went to hitch to study together for our eps sci 8 midterm tomorrow. After collaborating with one another I definitely felt more confident in my ability to do well in the midterm.

Today has been interesting. Full of ups and downs. My day started off not so great. I didn’t submit a quiz for my PS30 class and had to ask for an extension. Thankfully it was granted. I do not regret it so much since I got an extra hour of sleep. I got dressed, specifically wearing my tightest jeans for Denim Day. I walked to campus and stopped by the Kappa Alpha Pi fundraiser to talk to Kylie about fundraising tips. I also got to talk to my big for a bit. I also had other friends on Bruin Walk so I chatted to them. After this, I got lunch and watched a Youtube video from a creator that hasn't uploaded a video for years. It was a fun pick me up. I then went to the Bruin Consent Coalition event for Denim Day. I painted a pair of jeans and chatted with the other people there. I want to join the organization next year. It was a nice time but I got very badly sunburnt. I then went to my 2pm PS30 class, and tried to understand the workshop even though I haven't watched the lecture videos. I am glad I still went so when I do get to it, I will have a better understanding. After the workshop, I went to Lu Valle and wrote some emails and did some other work until I had to go to my room for the alumni Zoom meeting. The meeting was fun, I enjoyed hearing the alumni relate their experiences. I learned a lot about other fields of law that I previously had not taken note of. After this, I changed for study hours with my pledge brothers and quickly stopped at Rende for a meal. I brought the food with me to study hours and ate while I worked. I was working so much on my mock trial direct and crosses that I didn’t get to finish my daily journal on time.

Today was honestly pretty exhausting, like every other day that I write about here. I am writing this a couple days later. I'll do my best to remember details about how my day went. I stayed up all night at my apartment trying to write my paper. My friends work at the Anderson School of Business so we go into a conference room to do work late at night when we want some privacy and quiet-ness. So Tuesday night we decided to go over and do some work past midnight. When we’re there that late we force ourselves to stop chatting it up and actually do work. We were there for quite a while, up until like 3 in the morning, we decided to head back to the apartment because my roommate was ready to go to bed. My other roommate and I decided to stay up and do work. By the time I was done with the first prompt of my paper it was already 7 in the morning, and my roommates for next year had an apartment viewing at 8am so I decided to just shower and get my day started… without sleeping, at all, how fun. We went to check out the apartment complex and absolutely fell in love. It was so nice and I think we’re going to decide this week just to get that out the way. We went to get breakfast from chick-fil-a right after and my friend was nice enough to drop me off on campus once we were done with breakfast. I went to my two classes for the day and then headed to the library because I really had to study for an in-person exam. I spent the rest of the day at the Anderson library studying with my friends who are also in that class. I had to attend a general zoom meeting at 5pm for my study abroad internship this summer and then I joined the pledge/alumni mixer right after. I decided to go home then to get something to eat. My roommate and I ate dinner and then we went back to Anderson to continue studying for our exam. Overall it was a day of writing papers and studying and joining meetings that I have no time for but somehow always make it work. I honestly can’t wait till I get to lay back and just relax this summer in Colombia.
