So far today, I woke up a bit earlier than usual because I wanted to get a workout in since I have such a busy day ahead. I went on a run and then headed over to the Study to get some breakfast before my busy day. I knew I needed something to fill me up which was also not super messy and took a long time to order, so I got a large Caffe Latte with Almond Milk, and a Jalapeño Cheddar bagel to go. I am currently enjoying my delicious breakfast, and then after will soon head over to Bunche Hall for my one and only mandatory discussion. My TA for this class is a bit, interesting, but he said that as long as we show up to the discussion he will give us an A at the end of the quarter, so I really do not mind his long tangents. After my anthropology discussion, I think I am going to go to Kerkhoff for a bit and do some work before my interview with ZZ at 11:30 am. I have a huge midterm coming up on Thursday which is 50% of my grade, so I have been using every spare minute I find to work on some problem sets. After my interview with ZZ, I have an interview with Micah who will be joint by my twin Abigal which I am very excited about, and then I will head back to the hill to get some lunch. I am thinking of a B cafe sandwich, but since I already got my carbs in with my bagel this morning, I may be more inclined towards a smoothie.

Today I woke up later than I usually do because my first class doesn't start till 12. This ability to sleep in was a blessing because we are up pretty late working on our music video, which I'm really excited for everyone else to see. My first class is a three-hour seminar, so I'm not really too excited about that, but the TA is really chill so it won't be too bad. After this, I have my interview with Ricky at Wooden which will be an interesting change of pace from where I've met everybody else for interviews, and then my interview with Aneri at 4:30 on Kerckhoff Patio. I'm really excited to talk to them both as I haven't really gotten to know them much yet. After these interviews, we have our Mock Trial workshop tonight, which Cia and Narek always make fun. After writing my cross and closing last week, it made the process seem much more real, so I'm ready to work on editing these tonight and to collaborate with my fellow pledge brothers on each of our parts in the trial. After the workshop, I will probably grab dinner with some of them and head back to the hill to do some actual schoolwork. Being in four classes this quarter was definitely not the move to do along with pledging, but I'm just trying to go one deadline at a time and hope I am able to turn everything in on time and get a good enough grade in the classes to feel satisfied with myself.

Today I woke up pretty late. I decided that I wanted to sleep in because I did not go to sleep until five in the morning. It is not normal that I stay awake that late but this morning I kept snoozing until 11:10 am. But during the times I kept snoozing my alarm I kept hearing my roommate get ready which was nice because I got a scary email this morning from my TA. The TA was being nice just telling me to talk to my professor. I was just scared because I did not know how he was going to react. The rest of my morning consisted of me getting ready and I called my cousin which was nice. After I got off the phone I basically ran to class because it is so embarrassing getting to class late and finding a seat is not fun. Luckily I was not super late that I got a seat next to my friend that always comes in clutch with helping me. Another miracle happened, the professor said that he will be giving all of us an extension on our lab assignment because over the weekend his laptop was broken. This was amazing news because last night I sent him an email begging for an extension. But after this class, I have an interview with Mihir at the study which is nice because after our interview I am able to grab something to eat. I have a go-to sandwich that is delicious but it is a basic combination of everything I like. So I have finally mastered making my perfect sandwich.

Today has been quite the chaotic day for me. I have spent the past three days locked away in a Gayley Heights apartment after testing positive with covid. Although I never really felt that sick, which I should definitely be thankful for, I still had a really bad time being completely alone with no human interactions for an entire weekend. This morning I got approved to go to Ashe and take a rapid test to see if I qualified for modified isolation. If I tested negative I would be allowed to leave my room to go to classes and get take-out food from the hill. Luckily I tested negative with the rapid this morning so I qualified for this new type of isolation. Despite the new liberties, there are still a bunch of things that I would regularly do that I still cant. I cant go to dine in places on the hill, attend club meetings/play sports/ go to the gym, and cant stay at my dorm in Sproul for the next five days. I spoke with Ashe today and they said that if I test negative on a PCR which I just took and submitted, then I would be completely removed from isolation and allowed to go back to life as usual. Since I submitted my PCR just recently, I am expecting to get results sometime tomorrow night. Fingers crossed Ill get a negative on that also and then be allowed to return to my normal schedule starting Wednesday morning! Beyond that I used my first day of modified freedom to go to Cava and get some normal food( isolation food SUCKS) and then go to Target to get some snacks. Now I am doing hw outside and soon will go back to my isolation appartment and study for my important microeconomics midterm on Wednesday.

Today, I woke up a hour before my first online interview with Nathan. I used this time to work on my neuroscience essay, which was set to be due today evening. The paper is about the culpability of juveniles in criminal cases. I really enjoy this neuroscience class as it intersects largely with what I plan on doing in the future. For the paper, I have researching the neuroscience relating to adolescent behavior. It is interesting to research, as there are a lot of studies on how the reduced pruning of the prefrontal cortex during adolescence relates to limited maturation and risk taking behaviors. After I worked on my paper for a while, I attended my virtual interview with Nathan. I had a nice conversation with him about some of my psychological interests as well as some of our shared interests, such as IM volleyball and Percy Jackson. He also spoke to me about his experience as Co-Director of Rituals. After this interview, I attended my three hour law/neuroscience seminar. I was happy to find out that my T.A granted the entire class an extension on the aforementioned paper, which relieved a lot of my stress. I stopped at Anderson where I grabbed a coffee before my statistics lecture. I dislike this lecture as we seem to move very slowly each time, but attendance is still mandatory. After this lecture, I went to pick up my new fruit at Kerckoff, and spoke to my big, Hanna, for a while as well. Since then, I have been finishing up some small tasks before mock trial.

I woke up today pretty late since I had been up for nearly 36 hours over this weekend. Once I got up, I hopped onto a joint zoom call with Faith and Jen. Afterwards, I quickly finished getting ready and went to my discussion today at Dodd. In discussion, I learned what I had missed from the lectures this past week. I then left and went to my interview with Eric at Kerkhoff. I normally hate eating on campus but I was so hungry after my interview so I decided to go to Taco Bell. I ended up running into one of the girls in my Philosophy group there. I then went back to my dorm and called my mom. Then, I talked and caught up with my roommate who was getting ready for an Adam Sandler themed dinner which was interesting to see. We both ended up taking a nap sometime in between it all. I then got up and got ready for Mock Trial. After Mock Trial, I had dinner with some pbro’s. I plan on working on some Kapi homework tonight, study for the quizzes, and get some good sleep so I wake up well tomorrow. My sleep schedule has been pretty bad so I’m hoping to work on it this upcoming week. I am also pretty behind on my lectures, including the one I had to miss today. Luckily, they are recorded. However, I have the attention span of a two-year old so I’m gonna have to push myself.

Today was a little overwhelming, considering I had two back to back midterms. So I woke up around 9:30 am and headed to the study for breakfast. I decided to get my usual sandwich which was super yummy. After eating my sandwich, I then headed back to my dorm to get ready for the day. I was debating whether or not to wear shorts or pants. But after viewing the weather, I had the final decision of choosing pants because the weather was slightly chilly. After dressing up, I then headed to my first midterm for my linguistics class. The midterm overall was alright, but most definitely was not the easiest. I am hoping that the final is less of a challenge so my grade in the class can hold. After the final I then decided to get food at ackerman. I usually get sushi, but the line was especially long today. So then I settled for taco bell, which was just as fulfilling. After eating, I then did some studying for another class I had. Then I took the midterm and rested a little before the mock trial workshop. After taking a power nap, I met up with some pledge brothers to walk over to the mock trial room. After mock trial, I then ate dinner with my pledge brother Korra. We both ate chicken tenders which were super yummy. Totally worth lining up for considering there was not even a line to begin with when we both arrived.

It has been an overwhelming weekend. It was an interesting balance of having fun and doing work. I celebrated Shabbat on Friday night at Hillel. It was a “Shabbin” so there were a lot of people. I saw some friends that I haven’t seen in a while since I haven’t gone to my Rabbi in Encino in a while. I spent most of the night with my good friend. I hadn’t seen him in a minute either so we had a lot to catch up on. He told me about his new job offers and where he was planning on working. He is debating between working in DC versus Atlanta. It was a good time. On Saturday, I had a family brunch and it was a lot of fun. I had a good time at the brunch as well as in the car with Jonalyn and Cia. I went to a Car Seat Headrest concert in the evening, and it was truly amazing. It was my first concert. Sunday was my sister’s birthday so I went home and hung out with my family before I had to leave for my interview with Lucas. After that, I got dinner with one of my best friends and got some work done. After this, we recorded more for the music video. It was really fun. I like that some of the tasks we are forced to have fun with each other. I can have a good time without feeling guilty. After this, Jonalyn went with me to park my car in my parking spot which is like a 15 minute walk from the hill. That was a really sweet thing for her to do. I really appreciate Jonalyn, she truly cares about people. Today was stressful. I have so much work to do and almost no time to do it. I am falling behind in both my classes and the pledge process. I hope to compose myself this week once I finish midterms.

This whole week is going to be extremely stressful for me, and today was the start of the madness. I woke up early to meet Micah at Kerckhoff for my interview with her which I absolutely loved. We had a wonderful time talking about music, and I look forward to the opportunity to do so again if and when I cross. I walked back up the hill for my Zoom interview with Iris which I also thoroughly enjoyed. After the interview, I was able to spend some time studying for my Econ 41 midterm tomorrow, but I realize now that I am not well prepared for it. I have accepted my fate, and will be relying on the fact that if I can do better on the final, the midterm grade will be dropped. I am extremely stressed about that, but on top of that commitment I have to complete my requirements as a pledge before the next meeting. I have been scrambling to find interviews, work on mock trials, and complete the next mission with my pledge class. We have a hard time planning meeting times between all of us, so the mission has inevitably become left until the last second each week. We have a tendency to stay up very late many nights in a row in order to meet our commitments. I had volunteered to edit the music video many weeks ago, so in order to follow through on my commitment, I have been filming the clips and will be compiling them tonight in between studying. I also interviewed Hanna today which was a nice break between all of my stress. After the meeting I walked back up to the hill where I grabbed some food from a dining hall and did a little bit more studying, and then headed back down for mock trial. I enjoy the mock trial meetings every week, and while that was true for this week it reminded me of all of the tasks I will have to complete in the coming weeks. It is fairly stress inducing but I know that as long as I manage my time wisely, I will be able to handle the barrage of responsibilities.

Today has been a pretty good day. I woke up surprisingly early today. It was around 10 am when I finally got out of bed. After that I got ready and met with Connie and Josh for our 11:30 am interview. It was really nice talking with them. After my interview with them I went to Bplate. The food there was really good today, and I stayed for a really long time taking in the atmosphere. I love whenever Bplate has good flatbreads. I think that is what makes it so good, as well as the peaceful vibe present in the afternoon. After lunch I went to my 2pm interview with Ian and Saba. Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict and we had to push our meeting until tomorrow. After that I walked back to my dorm and watched West Wing with my girlfriend for a few hours. After that I sat in my room and watched national basketball association playoff games for an hour or so. I sent out a few emails, then got ready to leave for mock trial. Mock trial was really fun today. I filmed a few tik toks with Cya, and it was enjoyable dancing with my pbros. After that we filmed a little more for our music video. After that I met Peter at Rende. It was really nice talking with him for a bit. I think it's a tradition at this point for me to get rende after mock trial I do it every week.

Today was a pretty busy but not that tiring day. I went to bed pretty early because I needed to be up early for work in the morning at 8:30 am. So I went to sleep pretty early the night before around 1am (yes that’s pretty early to me because usually I sleep around 3-4am). I woke up at 7:30am because I love to sleep and don't really need that much time in the morning to get ready for work. I got to work and it was a chill day because my supervisor isn't in the office today so I get to just work on my homework the entire time, which is nice because it feels like I’m getting paid to do work. I still had to do an assignment for work that took up half my shift so three other half I was just catching up on personal things, paying bills and setting up appointments and what not. Afterwards I came home because I was starving since I had not eaten breakfast. I made myself a breakfast sandwich when I got home and enjoyed my “brunch” because it was pretty late by the time I started eating. I then decided to start working on my presentation for class this week which is pretty stressful because it has to be a paper and a presentation but it’s on the same topic so it should be too bad. I worked on that for a while and then decided to cook before heading to mock trial so I wouldn't be starving all night. I made some pasta and then headed over to mock trial. Like always, mock trial was chill, good vibes. We re-recorded our dance scene afterwards and headed home. I came home to reheat my pasta from earlier and start working on my assignments for the rest of the night. My goal is to sleep pretty early so I can sleep for longer tonight.

Today was an alright start to my week. I woke up stressed but less stressed than in the past few weeks, which may have been a bad thing. I woke up pretty early this morning because I had a 9 am. Part of me wanted to skip my class and go back to bed only because I did not get a lot of sleep the night before, and sometimes when I’m sleep-deprived, I get jittery, and I could feel myself getting like that this morning. But fortunately for me, my professor offered us an in-person and zoom option for class today, so I did not have to walk to campus. Instead, I just zoomed in from my bed. I also found out that my professor records all of his lectures so I can go back to his videos to study for our final. This was fascinating news for me. After this class, I got a bunch of food from the study because I felt starving this morning. After a long and well-deserved breakfast, I got ready for my day and headed over to the north campus for film and tv discussion. After my discussion, I used the next few hours to work on some assignments, and I also sent like four interview request emails. I heard back from most of them pretty quickly, which was lovely. After sending my emails, I walked over to our mock trial meeting. The mock trial went well. I must run through some of my lines today. After a mock trial, some of us stayed behind so that we could finish up our music video. Once we finished our music video, a few got a nice dinner. I get to know my p bros when we hang out outside of our “required times to be together.”

Today was an interesting day for me. I had traveled to my home for the weekend and taken the bus there. To travel back, I also had to travel on the bus, which took 6 hours. I arrived in LA at around 5am and I felt quite sleepy when I got here. Because I was traveling late at night, I was afraid that I would fall asleep on the bus and miss my stop. If I actually did that, I would actually be taken to San Diego and have no way of getting back to LA. Because I was afraid of this, I did not sleep that well on the bus. When I got back to LA, I actually spent some time sending emails before getting ready for bed and falling asleep at around 6am. I then planned to get up at around 10am for my class but that was an unrealistic expectation of me. I ended up sleeping until 12pm. I slept really well after I got in bed and had an actual pillow. When I woke up at 12pm, I went to get avocado toast at Bcafe again. This quickly became my favorite lunch and I now eat it almost every day. Afterwards, I went to interview Peter, Allison, and Hanna. I really enjoyed all my interviews today and headed to mock trial right after my last interview. I edited my directs and crosses there with the help of Cia and Narek. Afterwards, I ate dinner with my pledge brother and went to do some work, including finishing this daily journal.
