Today I woke up at 7am to go to my 8am dinosaur lab. I was really tempted not to go today but after preforming less than ideally on the midterm, I'm trying my hardest to make up for it in that class. I ended up drinking a Yerba and feeling much more energized then when I woke up. I finished the lab relatively early in the class and worked on taking notes for my atmospheric and oceanic sciences class for the remainder of the lab. After lab was over, I walked back up to my dorm and had skinny popcorn for breakfast. Right now I am currently doing some last minute studying for todays quiz during our pledge meeting and am then planning on catching up with the content in my psychobiology class. After doing this, I plan on getting a sandwich from the study for lunch and then meeting Vidya for our interview at Bcafe at 12:30. I am really excited to talk to her, as I have heard great things and would love to get to know her. After this interview I have my dinosaur lecture and am planning on staying on campus for the rest of the day after this class to work on assignments for other classes. Then tonight, we have our pledge meeting. I am looking forward to seeing my pledge brothers and the active body at GB tonight. I am also very excited for my dinner and to sleep tonight and hopefully get more rest than last night.

Today I woke up early because I had an interview with Aya and I wanted to shower and get some work done beforehand. I am definitely a morning shower person as I feel like it awakens and energizes me and gets me excited for the day. I got ready in my business professional wear and then headed to Anderson Cafe to meet Aya for the interview. I got there a couple minutes early, so I headed inside of the cafe to get water and saw that one of my friends, Stephanie, is a barista there, which I did not know about! It was really nice to see her and she greeted me with a warm smile, which totally made my day. After that, I headed to my management class, where 3 minutes before the lecture started, my professor sent us an email that the class was cancelled. So, I walked back up the hill and talked to my mom on the phone for a bit, where she informed me about some family drama, which was very interesting. Now, I am just in my friend's room till he has to leave for lab 2, so I will probably go down when he leaves at 1:30 and grab some food, even though I am not entirely sure where just yet. Then, I will head back to my room and study management till our meeting later tonight. I am really bummed because I do not think I will be able to make it to the gym this week, and this is the first week I have missed in a while. I just think I need to spend all my time prioritizing my midterm management, as it is unfortunately a very hard subject for me.

Today I woke up running late. My toxic trait this week is I have been valuing my sleep so I have been waiting until the last minute to get ready. So today I was rushing to get ready and to make everything worst the bathroom was closed so I had to go across the hall in my PJs to the other bathroom. It was truly a walk of shame. I hope to never do that again. I need to start waking up at 10:15-20 in order to not encounter the cleaning staff. After I got a text from my Big saying that if we want to hang out with her. So I went and spent the rest of my morning with her and Abby. While I was I order a coffee that Abby suggest. I got an iced Vanilla Latte with a pump of caramel with almond milk of course. This combination was honestly one of the best coffees I have gotten on campus. I struggled to find good coffee but this was good. Now I am going to spend the rest of my day trying to catch up on my work. This week got away from me too. I am also so nervous about my Public Affairs midterm tomorrow. I was so out of it this morning that I skipped my tutoring session and that was a big mistake on my part. I have not accepted defeat yet I know I will do great and my grade will go up. I genuinely like that class and I recommend it to those who like R studio. He was so nice to me that he let me have an extension on my lab until Sunday. I think today will be a good day if I accomplish everything I need to get done.

Today, I woke up feeling groggy and unwell. I only slept for a few hours last night, and I was awoken by the sound of my suite mates getting ready. I got ready for my 9:00 A.M, remembering to wear my business professional clothes. It was pretty cold in the morning, so I did not mind wearing my suit, as compared to some of the other days I have worn it. I went to my musicology class, where we had a guest lecturer. He was from NYU and was a very engaging speaker. However, he spoke for over 2 hours (past the class limit) and I do not personally find music theory that interesting. This made the class not very bearable, especially since the stage lights were facing us today which made my headache worse. After this class, I met up with my friend Ella for lunch. I haven't been able to see her lately due to my schedule, so it was nice to see her again. We caught up a bit and visited the roof of the math and sciences building. It was my first time on that roof, and it was a lovely view. One of my favorite hobbies is gong to different rooftops around campus and stargazing. After this, I had my statistics discussion. My T.A was more helpful than he usually is, which was nice. We finished the lab, and I headed over to Jan's for my interview with Maxine. We walked to Anderson and spoke for a long time. This was a very enjoyable interview for me, and I have been wanting to get to know her for some time now. After this, I headed back to the hill for my virtual interview with Eric. I spoke to him about some of our shared interests, which was really enjoyable. Then, I started doing some work which I had to catch up on. I have been falling behind on schoolwork, which makes me really stressed out. I plan to use tomorrow to catch up on as much as I can, as I know this week will be particularly difficult for me.

Today has been quite the stressful day for me. I had a huge paper due this morning for my writing 2 class that was wroth like 25% of my grade, so I spent most of last night up writing that, I finally got it to a spot that I was satisfied with and ended up submitting it though which was nice. It was really weird being able to come back to campus for a class today, after being in isolation for 5 days, it was surreal seeing people again and sitting in a lecture. I cannot wait until my modified isolation ends and when I will be free to go back to my regular school life. Today was also incredibly busy as I had to fit in 4 interviews into one day, it was insanely stressful and hard to manage, but thanks to the help of my big Eric, it all ended up working out. Now I have dedicated the rest of my day to studying for my microeconomics midterm tomorrow, I have been super stressed about it for a week now, and cannot wait to finally be done with it after tomorrow. Im really sad that I have missed out on a bunch of in person pledge activites including tonights pledge meeting because of covid, I feel like I am missing out on a lot, and cant wait to see all my pbros again soon. Hopefully I receive my negative pcr results tonight and then Ill be free to do everything starting tomorrow. I guess we will find out if that ends up happening in tomorrows journal though.

I am not sure how I feel about my day today. I think emotionally I am doing better. I unfortunately missed my lecture because I stayed up very last night working on assignments. However, I emailed my professor about the absence and requested an office hours to discuss what's going on and what I missed. He was very kind about my previous extension and he gladly accepted my request. I walked to campus after getting ready for the day and stopped at BCafe to get food for myself and Aya. I walked over to YRL where I studied for a bit with Aya and Aliza. Once Aya left for her piano activities, Aliza and I chatted and continued working until we both left for our activities at 2pm. I had my Jerusalem class, and the material was very interesting today. We learned about the conquest of Jerusalem by Alexander the Great and his successors. It was fun to see that I could read the Greek words because of having memorized the Greek alphabet. After this, I met up with Aliza and another friend to do some more work. I was very productive and that makes me feel a lot better. Colton came at some point and worked alongside me. Once it was time for the pledge meeting, we walked over together. After this meeting, I hope to get my essay for Musicology done as well as my homework for PS30. I also want to work more on my cross examination for Mock Trial. I am glad I feel better today, I was very emotionally exhausted the past couple of days.

It’s crazy how much I associate Tuesday with the end of the week now. It feels like the stress builds up throughout the week before peaking and breaking on Tuesday night. This morning I woke up early after staying up late last night, so I was a bit groggy. I ate breakfast with my roommate at Bruin Plate, before proceeding to my Econ 41 midterm. I had already determined that I will be dropping this midterm grade by doing better on the final, but I still think I did better than I was expecting. I guessed on a couple however, so I finished early. I turned in my test and walked to Anderson where my next class of the day was canceled minutes before it was scheduled to take place. I needed that extra time so much, so I was able to walk back up the hill in order to finish editing the video for our mission. I also sent out some emails, and got food from Bruin Cafe. My friend and I then continued down to Moore 100 for our dinosaurs class. Today we learned about the large armored dinosaurs, and how they grew their boney armor. After the class, I walked to the top of Janss where I met Saba and Ian for our interview in the sculpture garden. After the interview, I headed to YRL to study for the quiz and write my interview journals before the pledge meeting. Our meeting was very productive, and we all passed this week’s quiz! We are making progress. We did not have many things to discuss so we were able to move through each point fairly quickly thanks to the preparation from the respective chairs. We reviewed our roles for the professional event tomorrow, we began planning the next fundraising activity, and we laid down our initial plan for the imitation video. Afterwards, we walked to the general body meeting where many of us had aftermaths to complete, so we were there for a little while. After the meeting we went to our philanthropy event which was a success, thanks to the work from Faith and Juliana.

Today was actually pretty good. Especially from my rough night yesterday, I would say it is quite the improvement. I had stayed up last night to ensure I was ready for the test today (which I passed meaning I escaped probation) I woke up early to interview Max with Korra at 11am. I really enjoyed our interview. We got to hear a lot about her life - especially her college application process and the ups and downs of committing to a school. I went back up the hill after our interview and did some work before heading to the Study to get lunch with Cya. We came back to my place where we did work until my next meeting with Eric. I doubled with Raina for the interview and I really enjoyed it. I particularly love being able to talk about strology with the both of them. I then headed to campus with Cya where we finished up our last interview with Aneri. I loved being able to discuss the law school application process with her as well as her decision to pursue a minor in Global Health. I went into our general body meeting pretty nervous, but luckily was able to pass my quiz. Although I didn’t get to see my Big at the general body meeting amongst the active, I was really appreciative that Narek and Cia brought Korra and I chocolate covered pretzels to share. Although the pledging process has been so mental draining for me (as you can tell by my previous journals), I think the longer I am in it, I learn to deal with my stressors better.

Today was very similar to yesterday in that I was busy all day, conducting interviews. I woke up around 10am to get ready for my interview at 11am with Max. I did not sleep that much but it was enough to keep me awake throughout the day. To help keep my energy up, I bought a matcha latte at the Kerckhoff Coffee House. I did a few more interviews throughout the rest of the day and thankfully ended up making quota. After I finished all my interviews, I went to study for the two quizzes I would be taking at the pledge meeting today. During the pledge meeting, my professional co-chair and I presented our final plan for the Professional Pledge Event. I am both excited and scared for the event because I really hope it goes well. Besides the tasks I have to complete for the pledge process, I also have to complete my pre-lab for my organic chemistry class. The labs for this class are not particularly difficult but they do take a lot of time to complete. I still have not finished my pre-lab this week because I have been dreading it. I do appreciate the fact that I learn how to carry out lab procedures but the fact that the lab takes 3 hours is a bit unpleasant for me. An irrelevant thought that just came to mind is that I am really craving ice cream at the moment. I saw that the Paradise ice cream truck would come today but unfortunately, it’s too late for me to go out and get some ice cream. Perhaps I will get ice cream tomorrow if I still crave it.

Today was a great day, because the soccer team I support (and love with all my heart) won their semi-final match in the Champions League and made it to the finals. I got lunch with some friends at BPlate, which also had a surprisingly good menu. After that, I did some schoolwork, and tried to stop myself from napping. I slept super late last night, because I was up until 3 AM working on a midterm essay. After working, I unwinded for a bit and wasted some time, which helps me quickly mentally reset. I then did my interview journals and prepared for the aftermaths I have to perform at the general body meeting tonight. Later, I made my way with my fellow P-Bros, Kash, Raina, Aliza, and Jonalyn to our pledge meeting. I somehow managed to pass our quiz today too, so I’m happy I don’t have to do it again (three for three ). We did have a lot of feedback from the active members, which I will try my best to implement going forward. We also discussed the philanthropy event, and planned it surprisingly fast, which was a nice change. After meeting, my Big, Adrian, got me sushi, which was pretty cool, because I love sushi. After the meeting, I got Bcaf smoothies with some of my P-bros, and we hung out for a bit at a table outside. We also got our Adopted Bigs today, which was very exciting. I’m excited to hang out with Megan on the weekend and get to know her better. Now, I think I’ll work on a midterm essay I have due on Wednesday to finish the night.

Today was another busy day, but it was pretty fun at the end of it. After finding out my adopted big, it has been super enjoyable texting her and planning our weekend. As I digress, I started my day around 8:00 am. After getting ready for the day, I then headed to covel commons to get my ID. Last night I unfortunately dropped it and was locked outside my room for a bit. But luckily, I received an email about it being turned in to the lost and found. So I was fortunate enough to not pay for another replacement for an ID card. After getting my ID back I decided to try avocado toast from bruin cafe for the first time. As someone who enjoys eating avocado toast, I was pretty disappointed when I received it. Soon after I finished my toast I then headed to another midterm I had. Overall the midterm was satisfactory and was not too difficult. Then right after my test, I went to a lab I had which was pretty long. Once I completed my tasks for the lab I then decided to get lunch at ackerman. Today I settled on getting my usual order of sushi, specifically the salmon nigiri. As an avid sushi fan, my lunch was very fulfilling. After eating, I then rested for a little in my dorm before heading to the pledge meeting. Once I finished relaxing, I then met up with some pledge brothers to walk over to the meeting.

Today was a pretty emotionally draining day. Not because of anything Kappa Alpha Pi related but because of personal things. I hope no one actually reads these sometimes but, today marks the one year anniversary that my brother in law-past away. Death can be pretty hard and scary, and if my pbros remember this was definitely one of my lowest lows. Everything in my family kinda just changed after that, something for the better and some things obviously for the worse. It’s been a pretty long and strange year to say the least, feel the coldness of someone missing yet the warmth of feeling your family come together. Anyways it kinda just sucked that I wasn’t able to spend the day with my family, especially because we’re really close now and I can tell that they love it when I come over because they know I’m going to be gone for the summer which is usually when I’d be home. Today just felt really draining on me because I didn't really have the energy to be social and well-spirited like everyone always thinks I am. Don't get me wrong 99% of the time I am, but we all have those days. Anyways enough of being a debbie-downer, besides that being on my mind all day, it was a pretty relaxed day. I went to class in the morning, went to work afterwards, I helped my roommate with some coding homework, which let me just say always makes me feel so smart because I love coding and all my roommates always ask me for help.Pledge meeting was pretty chill, finally passed my first quiz which was great cause I actually studied and am simply tired of failing. I was put on probation cause I’m dirt pledge af, but just tryna take it one day at a time, if this is really for me then it will be for me, and if it's not then it’s not and like always f**k it we ball.

Today, I abruptly woke up early today. I think I scared my roommate by how quickly I jumped up in bed just to fall back asleep for an hour or so. Once I got up, I got ready and headed to my interview at Anderson Cafe. Afterwards, I headed over to Kerckhoff for a second interview. I then went back to the hill to rest for a bit and to work on my aftermath. My roommate ended up not going to one of her classes which was nice because we finally got to spend some time together. Me and my roommate are pretty close but I never really see her anymore so we used this time to study together. We ended up going to the drey to get some sushi and then headed down to the understory. There, I worked on my power point on professionalism. After working on my power point, I ended up going back to my dorm before birding over to my next interview. On the way down with the bird, I almost crashed twice because the brakes were terrible so I was swerving heavy. After my interview, I ended up going to Bunche and walking through the sculpture garden for a main character moment. I tried to study for the quiz until I got a text to come to Janns' steps with Olivia. Once I got there, we watched the music video for the fifth time and was confronted by one of those promo guys. After, we headed over to Bunche for the meeting. After the meeting, I ate some dinner with a few pbros and then did some work.

Today was alright it was chill but at the same time, it was super chaotic. I started my day by waking up at a decent time. I slept got to sleep in until like 10 which was nice. Unfortunately, sleeping in also meant I missed my class which kind of sucked because I missed my discussion. Anyway, after waking up I got ready for my day and prepared myself for my interview with Zz which went really well. She was super sweet and it was really nice to just be myself and get to know her better. We definitely had a lot in common and I look forward to talking to her more. After my interview with her, I went back to the hill got lunch and met up with friends, and worked on some of my class assignments. Then I recorded a few tik tok both for my pledge tok role and just for fun. After this, I walked over to our pledge meeting with faith an hour early so that we could interview Aneri. Our interview with her was nice she talked to us about law schools and her passions as well as her minor in public health. Ater our zoom we headed over to our pledge meeting. Our meeting went pretty well I did not receive any aftermaths this week so that was pretty relaxing.

Today has been a really hectic day. I slept through my alarm this morning and as a result missed my interview with Megan at 9. That was a really awful way to start the day. because I had never heard of any of my pbros missing an interview so I was worried what the consequences would be. Megan was super cool about it though, and we met at 12:30 instead and she gave me a fun aftermath which I definitely deserved. Megan and I got Bplate together, and it was really nice talking with her. She's a super cool person that I'm glad I got the chance to get to know better. After that I rushed to Kerckhoff to meet with Kylie, because Peter miscommunicated the time of our interview, and Kylie actually had work when he told me it would start. Kylie was kind enough to give me a sign off, and we're planning to meet later this week. After that I went back to my dorm and studied for my pledge meeting quiz quiz and took a quiz for my dinosaur class. After that I met Saba and Ian at 3:30 and we did a joint interview with Colton. It was cool talking with them, and we went to the sculpture garden together. I unfortunately had to leave early from this interview so I could meet Ria at Anderson at 4:15. It was really fun talking with Ria, though, and I enjoyed our time together a lot. She's another really cool person, and I hope to try one of her baked goods one day. After our interview I got a latte from Anderson and studied for my quiz for a bit. Then I walked over to Bunche and we had our pledge meeting. I passed both of my quizzes which felt really good, and got fewer aftermaths than I was expecting. After that we walked over to gb, and I performed my aftermaths in front of the active body. It was honestly pretty fun attempting to do gymnastics, and I hope everyone in attendance was entertained. After that peter gave me a falafel sandwich from one of my favorite spots, falafel inc. That was one of the best meals I've had in a while. After I got back to my dorm I chilled for a minute then went to SAC for my IM basketball game. We won 71-33 and I led the team in scoring with 23. It was the most fun I've had playing basketball in a while, especially since I haven't really had the time to play pickup with my friends since I started pledging. Now I'm back at my dorm, very ready to take a shower and then watch West Wing with my girlfriend.
