Kylie - Kylie and I met at Kerckhoff patio at 1pm on Friday. We talked about our shared experiences as children of immigrants, and our initial struggles navigating college. We also talked about our love languages and how they have developed over time. We chatted about relationships, and the challenges of long distance dating.

Hanna - Hanna and I met at 4:30 on Monday. She graciously allowed me to join her interview with Faith. We discussed her experiences with Kappa Alpha Pi, and the resources she has gotten from it. We talked about her desire to pursue a Spanish major and its relevance to Immigration Law. We each talked about the branch of law we want to practice and how they are all related to each other. She recommended that Faith and I look into organizations such as USAC and Project SPELL. Overall very insightful and educational.

Maxine - I met with Maxine at 3pm on Monday. We talked mainly about sports and our different experiences/struggles in the realm of women's sports. She talked about how receiving injuries negatively impacted her journey numerous times, in both skiing and rugby. We talked about the negative experiences we have had with coaches, and their constant disrespect. This was a fun and refreshing chat seeing as I have not been able to discuss soccer in a while.

Cia - I met Cia today at 8am with Jack. We grabbed breakfast together at BPLate. We talked about how our pledge process has been going so far. She gave us some general advice and told us to stay calm. She also answered some of the questions we had. We talked about the relationships we have with our pledge brothers and the dynamics. We also had a fun conversation about the things we liked to do in elementary school, where she told us about her underground Pokemon business. We also talked about our favorite anime series, and she recommended one for us to watch.

Eric - Eric and I met at Kerckhoff Patio today at 3:30 with Aliza. We started off by playing a game of trivia. He is in a competition with his little, Daniel. After that we talked about Aliza's experience in a military high school, which led to talking about our hobbies. Eric and I talked about Jewish communities on campus and our different experiences growing up with Judaism. We also talked a bit about our relationships with our pledge brothers. We talked about what our plans were for big/little weekend, and who we are thinking about for our adopted big.

Jacob - Jacob and I met at BPlate at 12pm on Saturday. When we entered, we saw Isabella and Jonalyn also having their interview so we joined them. We talked about Youtube: the people we were subscribed to when we were younger, kinds of videos we like watching, and the videos we made ourselves. We discussed our relationships with our pledge brothers, talked about who we are closest with. We also talked about exploring L.A. more since neither Jacob nor Isabella are from here. Both the food and the conversation were great.

Zz - I interviewed Zz today, Monday, at 11:30am at Kerckhoff patio. It was amazing, one of my favorite interviews thus far. We talked a lot about art and music, and how it can be used not only socially but as a form of rebellion and reform. This led into conversation about foster care and therapy. We delved a bit into mental health, and how we have been able to find ourselves more in college. We also discussed sexuality and gender identity and how it is difficult to be non binary in different cultures with gendered languages. We talked a lot more about these topics, a lot was said. Zz was great and I am so excited to get to know them more throughout my pledge process.

Nathan - I interviewed Nathan today in the Rieber Terrace lounge. We talked a lot about high school and the resources we had. I talked a bit about my upbringing and how navigating college can be difficult but I love it so far. We talked about actually liking to learn things and expanding your mind. He recommended that I check out the Fowler Museum, since we both talked about enjoying the art classes we have taken. I also told him about the struggle to know when to be fun and when to be professional. I learned a lot from this conversation, Nathan gives great advice and is very easy to talk to.

Vidya - I met with Vidya today outside of the Northern Lights café. This was an amazing conversation that I felt went by so fast. I feel Vidya and I have a lot in common, from how we navigate academics to how we deal with our emotions. I really enjoyed talking about General education classes and how they truly show you a new perspective to something you would have never thought about before. Vidya talked about her Public Affairs classes and told me about the Urban Planning minor. Urban planning is something very interesting to me, yet I didn't even know this was a major. I had such an engaging conversation with Vidya and I am looking to talk to her again soon.

Isabella - I met with Isabella at BPlate on Saturday. We talked mostly about my relationship with my pledge brothers and how the pledge process has been going. Isabella talked a bit about being the one editing videos and other things for her pledge class, since she knew how to edit from her Youtube videos. She talked about the dynamics in her own pledge class, and we had a fun time talking about her pledge classes imitation and music videos. Isabella talked a little bit about ice skating and I mentioned that my roommate ice skates as well.

Narek - Today I met with Narek at Kerckhoff patio. We continued the conversation we had over rush about Sociology. I talked about how I initially meant to double major with Political Science and Sociology, but I wasn't sure if it was for me. He told me about the classes he has taken thus far and recommended which ones to start with. We talked a little bit about music. I am not as big a Swiftie as he is but I still love Taylor. I might get more into Summer Walker as per his recommendation.

Elaine - Yesterday I met with Elaine outside of Sproul. The conversation was fun and casual. We talked a lot about Studio Ghibli, we are both very big fans of the animation studio. She recommend that I go to the Studio Ghibli exhibit while it is still here in LA. We talked a little bit about different fashion styles, and being into lots of different kinds of styles and how everyone dresses similarly yet uniquely. We ended with talking a little bit about how she is a guest on Aya's radio show. I listened in last week and it was hilarious.

Lucas - I met with Lucas on Sunday at 5pm in front of BCafe. We had a good time talking, and a lot of material to work with. We talked about tv shows a lot. Specifically, the highs and lows of Riverdale. I recommended that he watch Community, and he recommended that I watch Euphoria and Rick and Morty. We shortly talked about how he is known in the fraternity as the guy who is insanely good at SSB. He couldn't really keep it a secret. We also talked abut guys that are a little too obsessed with Future and the Weeknd.

Micah - I met with Micah at 1pm on Monday with Kash and Vedant. We talked about a lot of things but I particularly enjoyed our conversation about what she did for her fashion show with Hip Hop congress. I heard a lot about museums in New York from the three of them, which is exciting because I am going to New York for the first time soon. I talked about my position as fundraising chair, and how it has been a bit difficult to navigate. She talked about what it was like being VPR and we tried to get her to show us her VPR face. We ended the conversation with music, and it was fun to talk about a favorite band of mine, Khruangbin, which she saw live.

Megan - I met with Megan in front of Sproul Landing with Aliza for a double. We walked to Starbucks together to get coffee. As we walked we talked about our pledge process thus far and asked her what it was like pledging online. At Starbucks, we sat for a bit and discussed our hobbies and tv shows. We talked about playing sports in high school and how pressure affects your performance. She also talked about her relationship with Vedant and how she has such a funny little.
