Quota #3: I met Ricky today at Wooden at 3 today for our interview. While he benched 2 plates on each side, I talked to him about pledging so far, how he got into lifting , and our roommates. He told me about his latest pushup contest endeavor, and how he tapped out at 105. We also discussed the different ways in which he has conducted interviews in the past, and he told me about how he started lifting because he stopped playing sports and needed another competitive outlet. The setting of our interview and the conversation were really fun, and I hope to talk to Ricky more in the future.

Quota #3: I met Aneri today at the patio tables outside of YRL at 4:30. We also bonded over taking the same cluster class, and dealing with the same weird professor and his in-depth lectures. She also told me about her plans for graduate school and after, and I got to hear about her brilliant business idea for her post-lawyer days. I really enjoyed talking to Aneri, and hope to be able to talk to her more before she graduates.

Quota #3: I interviewed Vidya today at 12:30 outside of Bcafe. I had such a great time talking to her, it felt like I was just talking to one of my friends. We discussed her new tattoos and both of our tattoo ideas for the future. We also talked about nose studs and how she's thinking about getting one of those as well. I got to hear about her two younger siblings and found out that both of our younger siblings are both very artistic and talented. Additionally, we talked about the classes she is enrolled in currently and she gave me some advice on my Business Econ major. I really hope I get to talk to Vidya more in the future, as she is such a sweet person and I feel like we get along very well.

Quota #3: I interviewed Lucas today at Janss steps. As someone who hasn't watched much of Marvel or seen Star Wars at all, Lucas gave me a rundown of each franchise and told me about his favorite movies from each of them. We also talked a lot about the pledging process and how different his experience was as a third-year compared to what mine is now. Additionally, because we both go to Wooden and I saw him there the other day, we talked about our separate workout routines and how we each got into lifting. I really enjoyed talking to Lucas and hope to get to talk to him more in the future!

Quota #4: I talked to Eric today at Kerckhoff. We discussed his move from Long Island to California during his senior year, and how he finished his senior year remotely and even graduated on FaceTime. We also talked about his upcoming trip to Montauk with his friends, which I was really jealous to hear about. I have always wanted to visit New York, and going to Montauk at this time of year would be so nice. He also told me about his online pledge process, and we discussed how coming from out of state we don't know many people from home or from even from the same state that we are from. I really liked talking to Eric and hope to see him at future events!

We also talked about how strict/easygoing our parents are, and how it impacted our high school experiences. We also touched on our roommate situation and the importance of finding alone time for yourself. I really enjoyed my interview and drawing with Alli, and I hope to talk to her again soon!

Quota #4: I interviewed Kylie this morning at 9:45 on Kerckhoff Patio. We talked a lot about the different Economics classes she has taken, as I am a Business Economics major and wanted to hear more about her experience in them. We also discussed our separate panhellenic sororities, including the pros and cons of each of them and how we balance the sorority events with school and other extracurriculars. She told me about what she does for the campus organization HerCampus and encouraged me to join because I thought the kinds of articles that the organization writes sounded interesting. We also touched a little on travel abroad programs and where she would want to go if given the opportunity. I really liked talking to Kylie because of our similar interests and hope to see her at future events.

Quota #4: I met with David outside of Cafe 1919 at 11. We talked about different sports we did in high school, and I learned that he played swim and water polo in high school and that he even swam at UCLA for a time. We talked about the different strokes in swimming and how they are each tiring in their own way. We talked about the movie Morbius that we were both unfortunately subjected to and how the movie had no valid plotline whatsoever, and what we rather would have watched instead. We also discussed the validity of having a bunch of costumes in college, as everyone around you always needs to borrow something for a party or an event, and having a variety of things to wear for Halloween is always fun. I had a great time talking with David, and hope to talk to him more in the future!

Quota #4: I talked to Connie today at the study. We talked about how she got into cognitive science, and what her pledging experience was like virtually. Because I recently took a trip to Hawaii over the summer and she lived in Hawaii for the winter quarter of her freshman year, we discussed our experiences there and what our favorite parts were in being there. I told her that the next time I am there I would love to go parasailing. Because I am a Business Economics major, I was very interested to hear about her role in Bruin Consulting. I was very impressed with how committed she is to the club and am considering looking into the club myself.

Quota #4: I also interviewed Narek today. One of my favorite things we talked about was his roommate stories because he had a lot of funny things to say about them. Let's just say I am grateful to have really good roommates. We also talked about our shared love for Summer Walker and Kehlani, and how good Toxic by Summer Walker is. I have always been very impressed by Narek, but our interview really solidified this because I got to hear about his role as diversity chair and all of the work he has done for Kappa Alpha Pi since crossing his freshman fall quarter.

Quota #4: I interviewed Ira today at Kerckhoff Patio. We talked a lot about television shows like The Office and Friends, and who the most likable and dislikable characters are in each one. We also discussed Ira's French minor, and how she could be open to possibly living in France in the future if she pursues international law. I learned that Ira is planning on visiting Korea and India to see her extended family over the summer, which I thought was really nice as I know Covid has made it hard for people to travel and it's refreshing to hear that things are returning back to a somewhat normal state. I really liked my conversation with Ira and hope to be able to talk to her more soon!

Quota 5: I Interviewed Arianna at Kerckhoff Patio today at 3. We talked about our experiences as either past or present members of sororities, and how it is kind of a pain if they force you to live-in one year. We also talked about Arianna's experiences and perspectives as a transfer student, and she told me a particularly interesting story about a high school friend that went to community college with her. We also talked about the importance of a good first impression, and her own experiences as a pledge fall quarter. I really enjoyed talking to Arianna and was glad I was able to get to know her, as we had not talked much during rush. I hope to be able to talk to her more soon!

Quota #5: I interviewed Josh at Sproul Landing Lounge today at 5. We talked about our individual favorite memories of pledging, and how we both had or have certain things that keep us going during the process. I also got to hear about Josh's experience working at Hangry Moons, and how he actually decided to rush Kappa Alpha Pi after an experience he had while working a shift there. I also learned that Josh commuted 60 miles to campus during his pledging campus, which was very impressive and reminded me that anyone has the ability to successfully pledge if they are committed enough. I hope to be able to talk to Josh more soon!

Quota 5: I also interviewed Adrian today, and had a very nice interview with him. We talked about his interest in basketball, and I told him about how I used to play in middle school. I also got to hear about why he chose his three separate majors, and why he decided to be a triple major in the first place. He also told me about his cat, and our conversation has officially convinced me that I need to get a cat when I have my own apartment. I really liked talking to Adrian, and hope to be able to do it again soon!
